Advanced Imaging for Dogs & Cats
Veterinary CT Scans
A CT scan provides detailed, three-dimensional images that help evaluate areas such as the bones, joints, spine, chest, abdomen, nasal passages, and more.
Whether your pet needs a dog CT scan, cat CT scan, or veterinary CT scan, our team provides safe, efficient imaging with interpretation by board-certified specialists.
Abdominal Ultrasound
Abdominal ultrasound allows veterinarians to evaluate internal organs including the liver, kidneys, spleen, bladder, pancreas, adrenal glands, and gastrointestinal tract.
It is commonly recommended for pets experiencing changes such as vomiting, weight loss, abdominal discomfort, urinary concerns, or abnormal bloodwork.
Echocardiography
An echocardiogram is a specialized ultrasound of the heart used to evaluate heart structure and function. It can help identify heart murmurs, heart disease, and other cardiovascular conditions in dogs and cats.
Tissue Sampling
When imaging identifies an area of concern, tissue sampling can provide additional information to help determine what is happening at a cellular level.
Using advanced imaging guidance, our team can assist your veterinarian in obtaining samples from areas of concern to support a more accurate diagnosis and treatment plan.
We believe getting answers for your pet should come with clear communication and transparent pricing—not surprises.
Every CT scan includes the imaging study, sedation or anesthesia, monitoring, contrast when indicated, and interpretation by a board-certified veterinary radiologist. We'll provide a detailed estimate before your visit so you know exactly what to expect.
Payment is due at the time of service and may be made by cash, check, CareCredit®, or credit card. A 3% processing fee applies to credit and debit card transactions.

Making an Appointment
From your first phone call to your pet's visit, our team is here to make the process as simple as possible. We'll coordinate with your veterinarian, review medical records, answer your questions, and make sure you know exactly what to expect before your appointment.
Pre-Visit Planning
Before your appointment, your veterinarian will prescribe medications to help your pet stay calm and comfortable during their visit. We'll also review your pet's medical records and recent bloodwork before imaging. If updated bloodwork is needed, we'll discuss next steps with you before your appointment.
Imaging Day
Your pet will be cared for by an experienced veterinary team focused on their comfort and safety. Whether they're here for a CT scan, abdominal ultrasound, or echocardiogram, we'll carefully monitor them throughout their visit while performing the recommended imaging study.
Specialist Interpretation
Every CT scan, ultrasound, and echocardiogram is reviewed by a board-certified veterinary radiologist, cardiologist, or internal medicine specialist, depending on the imaging performed. Their expertise provides your veterinarian with clear answers to help guide your pet's care.
Results & Next Steps
Once the imaging study is complete, your veterinarian will receive a detailed report from our specialists. Your veterinarian will review the results with you, answer your questions, and discuss the next steps in your pet's treatment plan.

FOLLOW THIS CHECKLIST
To help your appointment go smoothly:
- No food after 8:00 PM the evening before your appointment unless instructed otherwise.
- Water is okay until your appointment.
- Give any prescribed pre-visit medications 2-3 hours before your scheduled arrival.
- Be prepared to let our team know when your pet last ate and what medications they've received.
- Arrive at your scheduled admission time.
We understand that leaving your pet for advanced imaging can feel stressful. Our compassionate team will care for your pet as if they were our own, keeping them safe, comfortable, and closely monitored throughout their visit.
Thank you for trusting us with the care of your pet. During the CT scan for dogs or CT scan for cats, your pet will be cared for by a dedicated Veterinary Technician whose sole focus is their safety and comfort.
Here's what you can expect during their visit:
-
- Expert Care: Your pet will be partnered with one of our skilled veterinary technicians, who will accompany them throughout their visit. Our on-site veterinarian will work with our anesthesiologist to ensure a smooth and safe experience while overseeing the procedure.
- Relaxed & Safe: To ensure the best quality images and to minimize your pet’s stress, they will be gently sedated or anesthetized during the scan. An IV catheter will be placed to safely administer any necessary medications during the procedure.
- Procedure Time: While the imaging itself takes about 30 minutes, we will keep your pet in our care until they have fully recovered from the sedation or anesthesia. Please allow an estimated 3-4 hours wait time. Our team will notify you when your pet is ready to be picked up.
- Radiologist Report: Once the imaging is complete, we will send the Radiologist Report directly to your referring veterinarian. Be sure to reach out to them for a review of the CT results and to discuss the next steps in your pet’s treatment plan.
Our outpatient ultrasound services are designed with vets, pets and their care team in mind. Sometimes your vet just needs imaging, not a full specialist workup. We offer ultrasound studies with detailed reports outlining both normal and abnormal findings, plus possible causes.
Here’s what you can expect during your visit:
-
- Expert Scanning: Our ultrasounds are performed by highly skilled and experienced sonographers.
- Comfort: Ultrasounds are non-invasive and typically quick. You are welcome to stay with your pet to observe the scan and comfort them.
- Shaving: An area will be shaved to allow for clear imaging.
- Sedation: Mild sedation may be recommended for comfort and to reduce stress. Ask your vet if pre-visit meds are right for your pet.
- Sampling: If needed, samples can be taken during the scan and sent to your veterinarian for testing.
- Findings: Your ultrasound study will be interpreted by a board-certified specialist.
- Report: The report will be shared with you and your veterinarian via email in 24-48 hours. Please consult them to discuss the findings, recommendations, and treatment plan.

CARING FOR YOUR PET AT HOME
Most pets return home the same day and recover well after sedation or anesthesia. It's normal for your pet to be sleepy or a little quieter than usual for the rest of the day.
-
Offer half of their normal meal later that evening.
-
Follow your veterinarian's instructions regarding medications.
-
Mild digestive upset is uncommon but may occur if intravenous contrast was used.
-
Please have someone available to monitor your pet for the remainder of the day.
If you have any questions after your visit, we're always happy to help.
